GDP acted as Town Planning, Land Survey, Environmental and Landscape consultants on this multi-faceted project, which was for the establishment for Mushroom cultivation. Marland Mushroom is one of Australia’s largest mushroom cultivators and this development sees them expand their operation into Queensland.
Consisting of almost 14,000m2 of mushroom cultivation area divided up into 24 separate climate controlled growing rooms, the new Marland facility located in Stapylton will be one of the largest mushrooms farms in Australia. Utilising the latest technology, the new facility, due for completion in July 2013, will help to meet supply demands for mushrooms within the south east Queensland marketplace.
In an Australian first, Gassman Development Perspectives has been instrumental in obtaining an approval for Marland Mushrooms for a new on-site childcare centre at their Stapylton mushroom cultivation facility.
The child care centre will be established on site to offer child minding services to the 150+ employees of the mushroom cultivation facility. It is a key aspect in Marland Mushrooms desire to have high staff retention rates.
Gassman Development Perspectives worked tirelessly with Gold Coast City Council to ensure this sensitive use could co-exist within an industrial locality. Utilising planning, landscape and environmental service streams, Gassman Development Perspectives was able to assist Marland Mushrooms achieve their desired goals.
